Christmas in Missouri

From Senator Eigel:

I just wanted to take a quick moment to wish you, your family, friends, and neighbors a Merry Christmas!!

For me, Christmas Day is the embodiment of HOPE.  As you may have heard me say already, I am a big believer that God has a plan for each and every one of us.  Oftentimes, it is challenging to understand how that Divine Plan is unfolding here on an imperfect Earth.  Especially this year, as folks have dealt with significant cultural and economic challenges, understanding the specific paths His plan is taking for each of us is even more difficult to decipher.

Enter the Christmas miracle!!!

The miracle that was Jesus Christ’s birth on earth is a big deal because it was God’s Plan being made real and present right here on this Earth—with us, as one of us!

Folks alive in the days of Christ had problems that in many cases were not much different from those we face today; poverty, oppression, fear, anxiety….all the things that, though they look different today, are all examples of human imperfection that God calls on us to overcome.

Christ came to earth to pay for the sins of a fallen world. Jesus also gave us His example of how we can be better versions of ourselves in His image. We are called to love God and love our neighbor.

“Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.” Matthew 1:21 (NKJV)

“And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins.” Matthew 1:22-23

Christ’s sacrifice to become Man is a physical, tangible reminder of God’s Plan – rejoice in the fact that there is no need to fear the coming future because He is with us!

What could be a better Christmas gift for every man, woman, and child in the world than His SIGN of faith and HOPE?

Here’s to wishing every one a us Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!

Respectfully,
Senator Bill Eigel
